Quality Costa del Sol properties still provide good value for money holiday or retirement homes. Due to the development infrastructure in the area, this part of Spain remains very attractive to the property buyers. Properties in Costa del Sol (apartments in particular) are easily let throughout the year, not just for holiday lets. You will be spoilt for choice with properties for sale on Costa del Sol. This is currently a buyers market, so good quality properties can be found on the re-sale market, more than off plan. However, if you are looking for good capital growth look for the up and coming areas of Costa Calida, Almeria and Costa de la Luz.
The Costa del Sol has up to 180 miles of coastline and is sheltered from the northern winds by a mountain chain, which in some parts meets the sea. It is shaped by a succession of beaches, coves, marinas and fishing ports. The mild climate and low rainfall make the area semi-tropical with lush vegetation and plenty of palm and cypress trees. Despite the fact that Spanish property in the Costa Del Sol is relatively expensive, this area remains one of the most popular regions for investment. The recent development of the Granada Airport and the improvement in the infrastructure has meant that the region away from the coast has also become a good investment for Spanish property.
Everybody has heard of the famous coastal towns of Torremolinos, Fuengirola, Mijas, Calahonda, Marbella, Estepona and Ronda and many of us have had holidays in one of these resorts in the past. Residential areas, marinas, golf clubs, entertainment centres, nightclubs and other tourist attractions are well established and coexist with the beautiful country villages of the Costa Del Sol.
More details on some of the famous resorts of the Costa Del Sol are as follows; -
Without doubt this is one of the major tourist destinations of the Costa Del Sol. It is about 30 miles from Malaga with about 15 miles of beach at the foot of the Sierra Blanca mountains. One of the focal points of the town is the marina and leisure facilities in Puerto Banus which attracts many tourists all year round. If you are looking for golf, there is no better place with a dozen magnificent courses including the famous Ryder Cup venue Valdarama. Most of the courses are close to the sea with spectacular views of the mountains.
The old town near to the beautiful bay has attractive Andalucian whitewashed houses with orange trees adorning the streets and squares.
A well developed resort on the Costa Del Sol with plenty of familiar English bars and restaurants if you want a reminder of life in the UK. It has 5 miles of a sandy beach with facilities which will delight old and young alike. There is still the old fishing port where the locals bring their daily catches and the new part with up to date facilities.
Malaga is not just the main airport where most people first set foot in Spain, it is also the the regional capital and a tourist attraction in its own right. Malaga today is a city which combines a modern dynamic business hub and traditional historic areas. It has many typical Andalucian buildings and areas such as El Perchel or La Trinidad which are often full of tourists in their bustling streets. It also has impressive beaches and good golf courses and is one of the gems of the Costa Del Sol.
All in all the Costa Del Sol is a well established tourist area and one of the first places where many people bought Spanish property. It is still an ideal place for investment for buy to rent or as a retirement home, although the capital investment will obviously be higher than in the other Costas.
